We are extremely fortunate to have over 100 ‘Friends of the Choir’ made up of our wives and partners and many others who regularly attend our concerts and join us when we are on tour.

Their continued support is much appreciated by the whole choir.

April 2016 Wells Cathedral

Over one hundred members and supporters of the choir recently returned from a very successful concert tour to Wells Somerset. The choir had been invited to perform an afternoon concert in the magnificent Wells Cathedral.

The eight specially chosen pieces, including  ‘The White Rose’,mostly sung in Cornish- attracted rapturous applause by a large audience that filled the  entire Cathedral nave, some travelled from as far as London and Worcester. The highlight of the concert was when Cassie Jane, who is the daughter of one of the choir members, joined the choir to sing the old favourite ‘Morte Christe’ which received prolonged applause and a standing ovation. ( You Tube Launceston Male Voice Choir Wells) At the interval, all present were enthralled by a stunning recital by Jonathan Mann on the Great Organ, that filled the huge Cathedral with sound. The whole event eclipsed anything the choir had attempted before, and was a great showcase for Launceston and the surrounding area. The complete Musical Team were congratulated for their leadership.

Later that day, the Choir joined the Cheddar Male Voice Choir to present an evening concert in St.Cuthbert’s Church, Wells, specifically to raise funds for ‘Children’s Hospice South West’. The concert was a sell out and a grand total of £1000 was raised from the evening.
